Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.

People often ask me about the tools I use to build software, run a business, and occasionally pretend I’m more productive than I actually am. Here’s a list of the hardware and software I rely on — whether I’m writing code, shooting photos, or just tinkering with things.

Workstation

  • 14” MacBook Pro, M1 Pro, 32GB RAM

Fast, quiet, and absolutely reliable — the best machine I’ve used for development and multitasking. The M1 Pro handles everything I throw at it, and I’ve basically forgotten what fan noise sounds like.

  • Apple Studio Display (Standard Glass)

Crisp, bright, and pixel-dense. It’s expensive, yes, but once you get used to working on a HiDPI screen at this size, there’s no going back.

  • Apple Magic Keyboard & Trackpad

The smooth gestures and minimalist design just work. It feels like casting spells when I’m in flow mode.

  • Herman Miller Aeron Chair

Possibly the most expensive way to feel slightly less guilty about sitting for 10 hours a day. But my back thanks me for it.

Development tools

  • Zed

Super snappy, beautifully designed, and distraction-free. Zed has quickly become my go-to editor — clean UI with just enough power.

  • Ghostty

A modern terminal that feels fast and minimal. It blends in perfectly with my workflow and looks great doing it.

  • TablePlus

Working with databases doesn’t have to be painful. TablePlus is elegant, efficient, and has saved me from writing way too many admin dashboards.

Design

  • Figma

Not just for mockups anymore — it’s where ideas take shape and team collaboration happens.

  • Photomator

My primary photo editing tool. It’s fast, intuitive, and powerful enough for everything I need — from raw processing to retouching.

  • Pixelmator

My go-to when I need a powerful image editor that isn’t overkill. It’s polished, Mac-native, and surprisingly capable.

Photography

  • Sony α7 III

My primary camera for both travel and portrait work. Incredible low-light performance and dynamic range, with just the right balance of control and portability.

  • Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8

My everyday lens — sharp, lightweight, and versatile enough for almost any shooting scenario. Great value for what it delivers.

  • Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8

Ultra-wide without the bulk. Perfect for landscapes, architecture, and getting creative angles without distortion overload.
